A Fishy Story While on a photography trip to Lake Clark National Park in Alaska in September 2023, I observed grizzly bears fishing for salmon as they tried to fatten up for the long winter quickly approaching. Walking along the shore, their noses sniffed the fishy air for the welcoming scent of salmon. Upon receiving that delicious aroma, they would bound into the water, hoping to return to shore with a red, juicy fish. My grizzly, unfortunately, came up empty handed. No fish for her. The consolation was the shot I grabbed of her shaking water all around before she started the routine all over again.
