Galerie Vero-Dodat was built in 1826 by Benoit Vero and Francois Dodat. Located between the Palais-Roya and Les Halles, it offers a flash into a gone-by era of elegance. Covered passages were in vogue at the time. There were more than 150 all over Paris. Today, only 18 passages remain.[1] Galerie Vero-Dodat is 80m long and 4m wide. It became a landmark in 1965, and it was restored in 1997 to its former neoclassical grandeur. The shops are adorned with identical arched windows and lanterns. Dark wood is decked with copper iron, mirrors, painting and columns. Perfect place for “faire du leche-vitrine”.
