Out of the corner of my eye - The Louvre at sunrise

I was enjoying the fantastic light and lack of crowds courtesy of the calendar approaching the longest day of the year. Convention told me that the stock image was to be taken from the end of the courtyard, juxtaposing the large Modernist pyramid, isolated in a courtyard of the classic Renaissance / Baroque styles of surrounding architecture. I had always been attracted by the images taken showing the architectural disparity between these two styles, yet I couldn't work out why I felt the pieces fitted together so very well. When I walked around the courtyard, this view just stopped me in my tracks. The pyramids just seemed to fit so perfectly and I submit this image with the hope that it illustrates how modern can live with older if we care to frame our point of view.
