In the northern hemisphere, glaciers are retreating at an unprecedented rate. This glacier is one of the very few still present in the Alps. However, this glacier is a living dead because its ablation zone has reached the steepest side of this beautiful peak, so it will disappear within a few years. I hope that my mountain photos are able to document and witness the beauty of these places at the time when glaciers were still present and to remind future generations of man's negligence. This photo was taken at dawn at an altitude of 3000 metres in the Swiss Alps.
