I love contrasts in pictures: be it the contrast of shapes and forms but also of behaviour of human beings. In this picture I liked the contrast between the elegance of the antique statue in the back and the guard in front, who stoically turns his rounds between the pieces of art without even looking at them. As I needed to hide between another statue, the strong legs of a Roman God frame the picture and provide some optical dynamic and contrast to the long stairs.
