Summertime in the Dolomites with horses grazing in a high alpine meadow. One horse pulls away from the herd, slowly walks to the edge of the Val Gardena overlook. Stops. She takes it all in – the lush valley, distant mountains, clouds like floaty cotton. She takes no notice of me clicking away further back, of my leaving. I let her have that moment. Shouldn't she be able to enjoy the view as much as I? The composition features a foreground relationship of boulders and horse, and the distant background. The focus was on the horse for obvious reasons with an f-stop to give the Val Gardena meadow a softer, more distant feel.
