A malachite kingfisher rests on a papyrus stem at first light. The seed head explodes into hundreds of backlit filaments, turning an ordinary perch into something closer to botanical illustration. The bird occupies barely a tenth of the frame — small, still, and impossibly bright against the gold. A wild, unbaited encounter.
