On a quiet February morning in Kushiro, two whooper swans glided past a shaded mountainside, just after the sun’s full rise. I attempted to sync with their flight using a slow shutter (1/4 sec), but the result defied precision—and revealed something unexpected. Their wingbeats became strokes of light against a backdrop painted in rich blue, reflected from the sky onto the shadowed slope. An abstract impression of motion, rhythm, and nature’s quiet elegance.
