Dalmatian Pelicans at Sunrise

I traveled to Northern Greece in early February 2026 with 2 other photographers to photograph the incredible Dalmatian Pelicans, the largest member of the Dalmatian Family, during the breeding season. We had been out with a local fisherman, Nikolaos, on two boat trips and were delighted with the results so when he asked if we would be interested in doing a shoreline photoshoot we jumped at the chance. Luckily for us, tour guide Miro had places available and we got an incredible sunrise for it where the birds are lurching out of the water, backlit from the incredible sunrise. This ended up being my favourite photograph from the entire trip, I love the lighting and the drama in the scene.
