Seven frames from a single Fourth of July over Las Vegas — the red chrysanthemum bursting first, then the sky answering in color. Fireworks are the most fleeting of subjects; a series lets me hold the whole arc of the night rather than one flash. I wanted the sequence to feel like memory does: bright, overlapping, gone before you can name it. This is celebration photographed as it actually lives — loud, generous, and over too soon.
