Inside the St. Peter’s Basilica during the Jubilee, a young boy stands clutching a cross, his wide eyes meeting the camera. The other three images, in full color, reveal the vast presence surrounding him: Bernini’s Baldachin in bronze and gold. Through his gaze, I glimpse questions about who he will become, and I wonder how the weight of this sacred day might echo through the next 25 years of his life.
