From above, Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited cities, at sunset, when the city is bathed in golden light and its historic outlines become softer as dusk draws near, this panoramic shot was taken. The rooftops, Roman ruins, Ottoman mosques, and socialist-era buildings all coexist from this high vantage point, creating a living mosaic of civilizations. The hill on the right is home to the Alyosha Monument, a Soviet memorial that adds a certain gravity to the cityscape—especially when its soft lights trace the slope. I ended up climbing Sahat Tepe twice—once in the evening for this shot, and again the next morning to catch sunrise over the historic center. In the evening, the vibe was relaxed and quietly social. Couples were sitting on rocks, students chatted, and the air had that calm energy you only get during blue hour. It’s one of those places where you can feel a city’s soul.
