This image was captured entirely underwater using a Sony ILCE-7RM3 and a 12mm wide-angle lens. No CGI or breathing apparatus was used. The subject and I relied solely on breath-hold diving, with precise timing and movement. The goal was to express the purity of form and emotion in a weightless environment. The dress was selected for its ability to flow and interact naturally with water. Natural light was the only illumination—refracted through the surface, it created halos that I carefully composed within the frame. My background in freediving and Japanese misogi training helped me prepare for long underwater sessions with stillness and control. I chose the "Fine Art - Portrait" category because this image emphasizes not only the subject’s physical beauty but the emotional and spiritual state conveyed through her posture, breath, and environment. This is not a digitally manipulated scene—it’s a real moment of surrender, intention, and grace beneath the surface.
