An ongoing personal project of deep focus close-up photographs of flowers. The focus stacking technique for these images can require as many as 100 shots at tiny focal increments which are then merged in focus stacking software to create a maximum depth of field otherwise impossible when shooting with a macro lens. This is a time-consuming process, but the effort is rewarded when scaled up to larger formats. Detail, form, texture and colour are emphasised in an almost hyper-realistic way. I call them portraits because I like to think that these elements combine to create different personalities.
