There are temple fairs of all sizes throughout Taiwan all year round. It is very common to set off firecrackers at temple fairs in Taiwan. Believers set off a large number of firecrackers not only to welcome the arrival of the gods but also to create a joyful atmosphere. It also represents gratitude to God. As environmental protection issues are increasingly valued, setting off firecrackers may be reduced or even banned in the future.
