As massive heat waves rose from the dry lakebed, a large herd of elephants trekked across to their daily feeding grounds in the nearby swamps. I tried to capture the elephants as they approached me for a more intimate vantage point and to accentuate the unique crossed tusks distinctive in the Amboseli elephants.
