The Trevi Fountain was constructed at the terminal point between three streets where ancient Roman aqueducts meet. Tourists come from far and wide to view the fountain, but this façade covers up much more. A lost city was found underneath the fountain called Vicus Caprarius (“City of Water”) which was home to the roman bourgeoisie in the fourth century. Sometimes we can’t always see the entire picture unless we dig deeper.
