I wanted to make a special series of the hummingbird with a dark background and a few rays of sunlight in mind. After a while searching for the exact right location and setting, I was able to capture these beautiful and very fast birds, at times opting for a frozen image with a very fast shutter speed and at other times just wanting to emphasize the beat in its wings. All recordings were made in the Caribbean part of Guatemala in March 2022.
